I recently had $7,692.84 stolen from me by a caregiver. I am looking for an attorney to assist with a lawsuit or arbitration to recover the money.

How can you prove it? Did you have the cash $$ in a drawer and you caught her on camera taking it? There’s more to this story than you told…I believe. Tell us the rest of the story, please.

With her/him knowing the specific amount taken down to the penny it was most likely some kind of digital theft.

Weirdly specific amount.

Call the police. This is a criminal matter, not something to file a lawsuit over (at least in the short term).

Did your actual caregiver steal your money or did the agency they work for?

Why did your caregiver or their agency have access to your financials? Homecare agencies bill insurance. If you're paying out of pocket for services then you get sent a bill directly. So I guess the question is why did you give access to your bank account?

File a police report. The cops will direct you on what steps to take next. For the future, don't let caregivers or homecare agencies have access to yoru bank accounts. Let them bill you.
