She was not wearing a DNR bracelet. I live miles away and I was not there at the time. I know they transported her to the funeral home in the ambulance and now 3 months later I am getting a bill. The ambulance company tried twice to submit it to Medicare and they wouldn't pay. Then they tried her other insurance and they wouldn't pay. Am I responsible for this? It was sent to her estate and I am the sole personal representative.

I found out it was the service call and medicare does not cover it so her insurance wouldn't cover it either. They charge it because they came out but did not transport her. The funeral home did that. It's been paid. Thanks.

So sorry for the loss of your mother. Paramedics and other first responders have to err on the side of caution and attempt resuscitation.

You are not personally responsible for the bill, but the Estate is required to pay it. If there is money in the Estate it must be used to pay your mother's bills prior to being distributed to heirs.
