If you can take them out, the botanic garden is a serene place to go. Most are handicapped access. It's a treat for all the senses.

my sister has a class each week that she does for elder people. She dos chair yoga with them and they all love itl She puts on some music once in a while but this gives them exercise and helps them out alot. Might try this. DVD's showing how to do this are avalable.

It couldn't be much fun to go outside and just sit in the garden. Now that the weather is warmer why not try taking them out and doing the yoga thing outside. I know you might not think this idea is very good but my sister has had great results with her program.. Outside with Nature and easy chair yoga might be just what you ned to g et them excited about getting outside. Like I said you might include some music in your program. Just a thought. Good luck.

If any of them can communicate, maybe give them a few choices and see what they would like to do? Also depending on their movement abilities, you can do ROM exercises, let them watch old movies from when they were younger, play bingo, maybe some sort of arts and crafts activity? Walking outside for awhile, maybe bring in some cooking supplies to make some quick cookies, or some dessert? Reading? etc. Hope this helps.
