My father-in-law has had two or three minor strokes over the past three years, and his wife passed away a year and a half ago. He has since become increasingly erratic in his behavior. He sends money to mail scams, he is sexually inappropriate with almost any female he comes in contact with nurses, neighbors, friends, etc.

The strokes might have damaged the part of the brain that's responsible for impulse control. It certainly sounds like he's having trouble controlling his impulses. Have you discussed his behavior with his Dr.?

Where is he living? Still on his own? Anyone have POA? not much info here but he will likely blow all his money if someone does not take control. And sounds like his doc should prescribe some meds to calm him down. This behavior is going to cause big trouble if not dealt with.
